No one wants to think about it, but emergencies happen. It could be a fire, a flood, a person…whatever it is, it can mean you have very little time, and you need to prioritize what you take. We know it’s challenging to think about it right now, but you’ll never regret planning ahead to help your dogs through a disaster.

What to bring with you:

  • Dog bowl

  • Non-retractable leash

  • Dog tags and collar

  • Dog’s vaccination records (This may become important when it comes to shelters or temporary home rentals.)

  • All other available dog records, including dog’s microchip information

  • Dog’s medications, if applicable

If it’s financially feasible for you, consider having spares or duplicates of all of these, and keep them all together in one backpack or bag. The time you save may mean all the difference for your family.

What to buy as soon as you can after leaving:

  • Water with no added ingredients

  • Dog food

  • If you could not pick up the previously mentioned collar, leash or bowl, consider purchasing these, as well.

Our Emergency Dog Kit:
